The Gray Fox is Simply Wonderful

I am always amazed by the differences in human interests— when I shared this photo recently, I assumed people would go crazy over it, but quite the opposite has happened. Now, when I share a bird, WATCH OUT! Hahaha. This stunning relative— called a “gray fox”— is actually uncommon up north, but more common down south. A year ago a gray fox was visiting our sunflower feeder at night, and so all I had was a vague image of what this wonderful animal might look like in real life. On April 16th, in the evening but still plenty of daylight, this gorgeous animal came strolling through the forest at just the right time to catch my eye out the kitchen window— a few minutes later the fox climbed up on a log, posed for about two full minutes, and then walked on….
